Transfers
Transfers (Payments and Transfers) is a powerful feature of Direct Access. It enables you to move money in just seconds, at your convenience. You'll find it easy to keep your money working for you by transferring excess funds into your interest-bearing accounts, or by quickly moving funds into checking to cover payments to be made.

You can use the transfer feature to make payments to any accounts linked to your Citicard, such as: Citibank credit lines or loans, including Citibank Visa® and MasterCard®.

Note: You can access Landmark money market Funds linked to a Citibank transaction account through Transfers. Landmark Money Market Funds are sold through Citicorp Investment Services as broker and are distributed by The Landmark Funds Broker-Dealer Services, Inc.

Things to know about Transfers

  • Federal regulations currently limit the number of transfers and withdrawals from Savings and Insured Money Market and Preferred Money Market accounts through Direct Access. Please see the Direct Access User Agreement for details.
  • Transfers made before 11:00 PM ET will be posted the same business day.
  • If there are insufficient funds available on the day a transfer is scheduled to be made, Citibank will notify you online and automatically try to complete the transfer on each of the next two calendar days with the exceptions of Thanksgiving, Christmas and July 4th. If there are still insufficient funds on the third try, Citibank will cancel the transfer and notify you online.
  • For your convenience, trades in Landmark money market funds which are linked directly to your Citicard are accessed under Transfers. When you request a transfer to or from a Landmark money market fund account, you are placing an order with Citicorp Investment Services to buy or sell the number of shares of the designated Landmark money market fund equal in value to the amount of the transfer requested, in accordance with the terms and conditions of your Landmark Account Agreement. Citicorp Investment Services acts as your broker for this order.
  • Landmark money market funds are securities, and as such are not bank deposits or FDIC insured, are not obligations of or guaranteed by Citibank or Citicorp Investment Services and are subject to investment risks, including possible loss of principal amount invested.

Making Transfers
To make a transfer, select the Payments & Transfers channel and click on Transfers in the task bar. There are four basic steps to make a transfer:

    1. Select the account that funds are transferred from
    2. Enter the date you want to make the transfer
    3. Enter the amount you want to transfer
    4. Select the account that funds are transferred to
You can transfer the money immediately, on a specified date in the current month, or on a specified date in the upcoming 12 months.

After you confirm the transfer, Direct Access displays a summary screen that shows new balances after the transfer.

Setting Up Recurring Transfers
Your accounts are interrelated and the transfer feature is a powerful tool that helps to further "connect" them. Instead of writing a check every month to deposit into Savings, you can simply set up a recurring transfer from Checking to Savings. You can choose to have your recurring transfers made weekly, every other week, monthly, quarterly, semiannually, or annually.

To set up a recurring transfer, click on the Payments and Transfers channel, and select Transfers from the task bar. Then click on Set Up a Recurring Transfer in the work area and follow the step-by-step instructions on the screen. Direct Access will then ask you for the payment, amount, frequency, beginning date, and "end point".

Seeing or Changing Future Transfers
For each scheduled transfer, Direct Access allows you to see or change the account involved in the transfer, the amount and the date the transfer is to be made. For recurring transfers, you can also see or change the frequency and/or how long the recurring transfer will continue.

Note: See Recent Activity in the Account Information channel for past transfer information.

Canceling Future Transfers
To cancel a scheduled transfer, use the Cancel a Future Transfer function, and follow the directions on the screen.

Note: Some elements of a future transfer can be changed or canceled before the transfer is sent. If you are connecting from the continental United States, transfers can be changed or canceled until 11:59 PM local time of the day prior to the scheduled payment date. If you are connecting from outside the continental United States, transfers can be changed or canceled until 11:59 PM Pacific Time of the day prior to the scheduled transfer date. Past transfers cannot be changed or canceled.
